Vedanta dividend 2023 announced: Check amount, record date and payment date

Vedanta Dividend 2023, Vedanta Dividend Record Date 2023: Mining company Vedanta Limited, NSE: VEDL, has announced an interim dividend of a whopping 1250 per cent to its shareholders. The company through an exchange filing informed that the board has approved an interim dividend of Rs 12.50 per equity share.

"The Board of Directors of the Company has approved the Fourth Interim Dividend of ₹ 12.50 per equity share i.e. 1250% on face value of Re. 1/‐ per share for the financial year 2022‐23 amounting to c. ₹ 4,647 Crores," the company's exchange filing said.  

Vedanta Dividend 2023 Record Date

According to an exchange filing by the company, the Vedanta board has fixed February 4, Saturday, as the record date for determining the eligibility of shareholders for the payment of the dividend amount if approved today.

"...the Board of Directors of the Company (the “Board”) on Friday, January 27, 2023, will consider and approve Fourth Interim Dividend on equity shares, if any, for the Financial Year 2022-23," the company's exchange filing read.

A dividend is one of the corporate actions. A stock dividend is an amount that is paid in cash to shareholders by a listed company. The stock dividend is basically rewarding shareholders without reducing the cash balance of the company.

The dividend amount will be credited directly into the shareholders' bank account linked to their Demat account on the payment date. 

"The interim dividend will be paid within the stipulated timelines as prescribed under the law," the company's exchange filing read.
