Petrol-Diesel Prices Today, December 7: The price of petrol and diesel remained unchanged on Wednesday, 7 December. The oil marketing companies update fuel prices every morning at 6:00 AM. For the past five months, fuel prices have not changed. Public sector oil marketing companies update fuel prices every day.

The last significant nationwide variation in fuel prices occurred in May after the government reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and on diesel by Rs 6 per litre.

Petrol, Diesel latest and updated Prices in major metropolitan Cities

In New Delhi, the price of petrol and diesel is Rs 96.72 and Rs 89.62 per litre, respectively.

Petrol and diesel cost Rs 106.31 and Rs 94.27 per litre in Mumbai, respectively.

In NOIDA, the price for diesel is Rs 89.96 and Rs 96.79 for Petrol.

A litre of petrol costs Rs 102.63 and diesel Rs 94.24 in Chennai.

People in Chandigarh have to pay Rs 84.26 for Diesel and Rs 96.20 for Petrol.

In Kolkata, the price of petrol is Rs. 106.03 and that of diesel is Rs. 92.76 a litre.

Fuel prices are revised in line with international benchmark prices and foreign exchange rates by public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs). OMCs include Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL).

Differences in local taxes like VAT and freight charges from state to state, affect petrol and diesel prices in different cities.
