Petrol-Diesel Prices Today, December 19: The price of petrol and diesel remained steady on Monday, 19 December. Fuel prices have not changed in the last seven months. The oil marketing companies revise fuel prices every morning at 6:00 AM. The last major country-wide fluctuation in fuel prices was witnessed in May when the Centre cut the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre on diesel.

In another related development, the rates of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) were hiked in the country on Saturday morning.

Petrol, Diesel latest prices in major metropolitan Cities

According to the latest update, the people in the national capital- New Delhi have to pay Rs 96.72 and Rs 89.62 per litre for petrol and diesel, respectively,

The price for petrol and diesel in Mumbai is Rs 106.31 and Rs 94.27 a litre, respectively.

In NOIDA, the price for diesel is Rs 89.96 and Rs 96.79 for Petrol.

People in Chennai have to pay Rs 102.63 and Rs 94.24 a litre for petrol and diesel, respectively.

In Kolkata, the price of petrol is Rs. 106.03 and that of diesel is Rs. 92.76 a litre.

Fuel prices are revised in line with international benchmark prices and foreign exchange rates by public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs). OMCs include Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL).

Differences in local taxes like VAT and freight charges from state to state, affect petrol and diesel prices in different cities.

Indian Oil customers may type RSP on their phone and send an SMS to 9224992249, while Hindustan Petroleum customers need to type HPPRICE and send an SMS to 9222201122. Bharat Petroleum customers need to type RSP and send and SMS to 9223112222.
